Our check-in process was quite awkward, as it wasn't clear where to go, leading us to walk through the bar lugging our bags. I was initially in a room facing the street, and the noise from outside was extremely disruptive, making it hard for a light sleeper like me to rest. While I appreciated the quick room change, I felt the hotel could do a better job of warning guests about potential noise issues in certain rooms.

Stylish spot in the heart of town!

Had a chilled stay with super comfy beds and cute coffee station. The breakfast selection was bomb, really gave us a great start. The bathroom setup was a nice touch too. Just wish check-in wasn’t so confusing, felt like I was wandering around a bit! Still, the staff were warm and helpful!

Just a solid selection for a momentary visit in Newbury with reasonable price. The breakfast selection was awesome, really kick-started the day. Try to secure a room away from the street for more peace.

the coat and bear hotel is amzin! our really comfy room was soo stylish and super comfy. loved the cute little free standing bath and the yummy tea and coffee setup with the illy machine. breakfast was to die for, such a good start to the day! the staff were all super friendly and made us feel really welcomed.

the only downsides were the noise from the street and it took a bit longer to get our drinks at the bar than we hoped.

great location , but some noise issues

The location was excellent right on Market Street, allowing easy access to shops and attractions. Our room was brand new, clean, and comfortable, perfect for relaxation. The bar food menu offered a delightful range of options that exceeded my expectations, especially the drink selection.

The noise from nearby streets was noticeable at times.
